Den Amstel whips Riddim Squad

Defending champions Den Amstel and Santos secured lopsided wins when the Guyana Football Federation [GFF] Super 16 Championship continued on Sunday at the National Track and Field Center, Leonora.

Den Amstel bested Riddim Squad 4-1. Andre Hector tallied a double in the 55th and 67th minute, while Gideon Payne and Chris Macey scored in the 14th and 85th minute respectively. For the loser, Kevin Agard scored in the third minute.

Similarly, Santos crushed Eagles 4-0. LaVaughn Eniss recorded a brace in the 33rd and 57th minute, while Marcus Wilson and Kester Jacobs scored in the 61st and 87th minute each. The event continues tomorrow with a quarterfinal doubleheader at the Eve Leary ground.

Fruta Conquerors will oppose Milerock at 18:30hrs while Western Tigers will take aim at the Guyana Police Force [GPF] from 21:00hrs.

The team emerging the winner on January 1st, 2020 will be rewarded with two million dollars and the championship trophy, with the losing finalist pocketing one million. The third and fourth place finishers will receive $500, 000 and $250,000 respectively and the corresponding accolade.
