Nigel Hinds and Trophy Stall have collaborated with the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) to sponsor prizes for the Association’s seventh Year End Championship final.
On Tuesday, Hinds, the Prime Ministerial candidate for Change Guyana and the owner of Hinds Financial Services made good of his promise and donated $700,000 along with a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 for the Most Valuable Player.
Also, owner of the Bourda-based accolade giants, Trophy Stall, Ramesh Sunich, presented the trophy to president of the UDFA, Terrence Mitchell at the company’s location.
According to a release, Mitchell thanked both sponsors for coming on board, especially at a time when sponsorship was hard to come by.
The tournament commenced on December 13 at the Mackenzie Sports Club, Linden with 10 teams battling across eight gruelling days.
The curtains will come down on the tournament tonight at the same venue in Linden with the third place playoff from 19.30 hours between Winners Connection and Botofago, followed by the final between Coomacka and Topp XX.
Third place will pocked $400,000 while fourth will take home half that amount. Meanwhile, in the final, the winner will cart off with one million dollars and the loser, walking away with $600,000.
