Trinidad: Maloney murder suspect killed

(Trinidad Guardian) In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing in­to the shoot­ing death of a Mal­oney man just min­utes in­to 2020. The vic­tim has been iden­ti­fied as Ja­mal Bain who po­lice said was a sus­pect in sev­er­al mur­ders, the most re­cent o0f which oc­curred at Build­ing 9 in Mal­oney last No­vem­ber. Three peo­ple were killed in that in­ci­dent, in­clud­ing a woman.

Bain­was al­so a sus­pect in a mur­der that took place in Au­gust and sur­vived an at­tempt on his life in April.

Po­lice said there was a con­fronta­tion be­tween Bain and a po­lice of­fi­cer from the Spe­cial Forces Unit at Her­mit Av­enue, Mal­oney, near Build­ing 5, and he was shot at around 12.15 am.

 He was tak­en to the Ari­ma Dis­trict Hos­pi­tal where he died while be­ing treat­ment.

Bain’s death is yet to be clas­si­fied.
