The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) stunned Fruta Conquerors 1-0 to lift the GFF Super 16 Championship on Wednesday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.

 Following a scoreless first half interval, Benjamin Opara, the tournament’s eventual Most Valuable Player (MVP), fashioned the lone conversion in the 57th minute.

As a result, GDF walked away with $2,000,000 and the trophy, while the loser collected $1,000,000. For his individual effort, Opara received a Honda 125cc Motorcycle.

 Meanwhile in the third place playoff, Santos upset the Guyana Police Force (GPF) 3-2. With the result, Santos pocketed $500,000 while the loser collected $250,000.
