Centuries from Ricardo Ramdehol and Jonathan Rampersaud booked Rose Hall Town Bakewell’s spot in the final of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Ramnaresh Sarwan Under-17 tournament. On Friday, hosts, Rose Hall Town defeated Rose Hall Canje by 351 runs, a record at this level.

Rose Hall Canje won the toss and invited the hosts to take first strike after rain forced an hour’s delay and reduced the match to 40-overs a side. Rose Hall Town piled on a mammoth 418 for two from their allotted overs before bundling out the visitors for 67 in 23.4 overs.

Ramdehol missed out on becoming the first batsman with a double century at this level but hammered 16 fours and eight sixes during his pugnacious innings. The opener set a record when he shared an unbroken union of 337 for the third wicket with Rampersaud. Rampersaud chalked up 141 not out, decorated with 10 fours and eight sixes.

Ramdehol lost his opening partner, Vickash Subramani, who was bowled by Isai Thorne without scoring but added 69 for the second wicket with Mahendra Gopilall who made 47, laced with seven fours and one six.

In the chase, Rose Hall Canje were stifled by the Rose Hall Town spinners as Matthew Pottaya took 4 for 23, Jeremy Sandiha (3-12) and Nyron Hicks (2-12). No batsman reached double figures but extras accounted for 23 runs. Rose Hall Town will now face Albion in the final.
