Police seeking man over murder of Buxton labourer

The police are seeking the assistance of the public to locate a 25-year-old man who is wanted in connection with the murder of Buxton labourer, Daniel Akeem Amore.

In a wanted bulletin issued yesterday afternoon, the police said that John France, whose last known address is Lot 20 Section ‘A’ Friendship, Buxton, East Coast Demerara is wanted for questioning in relation the March 1st murder of Amore which occurred at Buxton, ECD.

Stabroek News had reported that Amore, 18, of Section 20 ‘A’, Friendship, Buxton, ECD was murdered during a confrontation with a relative. His mother was also injured as she attempted to part the fight.

The police had said that last Sunday night, two brothers, Haslyn Williams and James Dublin were consuming alcohol when an argument ensued between them that escalated into a fight.

However, Dublin’s wife, Melissa Garraway, who was present, managed to part the fight.

At the said time, police had said, the suspect entered the yard and had a confrontation with Dublin. He subsequently, exited the yard and returned with a cutlass and knife and broad-sided Dublin several times.

Garraway again intervened in an attempt to stop the fight but was wounded by the suspect on her left hand, causing injuries to her fingers.

It was at this point, Amore confronted the suspect.

During the confrontation, the suspect dropped the cutlass and fled the scene. He was pursued by the Amore and apprehended. However, during that process he was stabbed in the centre of his chest.

The suspect immediately escaped and has since been on the run. Amore was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
