Johnny was discovered on the morning of February 27 with his feet tied together with a black shoe lace, while what appeared to be strangulation marks were observed on his neck. Also, there was a puncture wound above his left eye.

A post-mortem examination subsequently gave his cause of death as multiple injuries.

However, it was also discovered that Johnny’s premises, where he resided alone and operated his grocery store, was ransacked with no forced entry observed.

Police later discovered that a safe from the upper flat of the man’s house was stolen.

Meanwhile, four persons have already been charged with the crime.

Satram Kushlay and Bilall Mc Lennan were charged jointly with murder committed on Johnny, also known as ‘Sham,’ while Gopaul Ramgobin and Navendra Narine were charged with knowingly harbouring and assisting Kushlay and McLennan between February 27 and March 6, although they knew they had committed the crime.

The four men will return to court on April 14.
