Barbados curfew will still end May 3rd

(Barbados Nation) The curfew period has not changed, even though there has been an extension of the public health emergency to June 30.

Attorney General Dale Marshall explained yesterday that the curfew in force still ends on May 3.

“So, there appears to be some alarm in the minds of the Barbadian public and they seem to feel that the curfew has now been extended until June 30. That is absolutely not the case. All that we’ve done is to say that until June 30, we consider that Barbados is in a State of Emergency to deal with COVID,” Marshall said in a statement yesterday.

He explained that if the Government determined, based on the public health advice, a need to extend that curfew or put different restrictive arrangements in place, that will be done, but those decisions have not yet been taken.

Yesterday, the House of Assembly, agreed to extend the emergency.

The resolution was tabled by Leader of Government Business Santia Bradshaw, to permit the House to extend the original Proclamation due to expire on April 27.
