Three more positive COVID-19 cases confirmed

Three additional positive cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have been recorded by the Public Health Ministry, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Guyana to 97.

The new cases were recorded on the ministry’s daily COVID-19 update dashboard, which was posted on the Ministry’s Facebook page yesterday.

As a result of the new cases recorded, 52 persons are now in institutional isolation, while 5 persons are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit.

There are still three persons in institutional quarantine and 35 persons have recovered from the disease. Meanwhile, a total of 852 persons have been tested thus far, with 755 persons testing negative for the respiratory disease. 

The first case of COVID-19 was confirmed on March 11, 2020. Ten persons have since died from the disease.
