Khurshid Sattaur was a consummate public servant

Dear Editor,

Guyana recently lost one of the most patriotic sons of the soil Mr. Khurshid Sattaur, former Commissioner-General of the Guyana Revenue Authority, who died recently.

The former Queen’s College scholar had a sharp intellect and was full of energy and was never afraid to make decisions for the improvement of GRA.

He was a consummate public servant who had a love for his job and was awarded the national award of C.C.H (Cacique Crown of Honour) by the Government of Guyana.

He displayed a sense of humour that obviously derives from a keen intellect.

He was very jovial when he was appointed Commissioner-General and was not corrupt but displayed humility.  Farewell, may your soul rest in peace.

Yours faithfully,

Peter R. Fraser
