Anthony Lowe, the demolition worker who was left critical after a Banks DIH building that was being demolished collapsed just over a week ago at Industrial Site, Ruimveldt, succumbed yesterday to his injuries.

Lowe, 27, of Second Street, Mocha Arcadia, East Bank Demerara, succumbed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), where he had been a patient since last week Wednesday, when the fatal accident occurred. One of Lowe’s co-workers, Jagmohan Bissessar, 61, of La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, died on the day of the accident.

A relative of the deceased also confirmed his death.

Calls made to the Home Designs Engineering Associates, the contracting company for which Lowe was working when the accident occurred, went unanswered. He had work-ed with the company for over five years.

Previously, Ketitia Waithe, the wife of the now deceased, told Sta-broek News that Lowe sustained injuries to his head, face, hands and lungs and was in a critical state as a result.

Three other workers, Neil Fredericks, Hoslton Melville and Bhisham Sanichar, suffered minor injuries in the accident.
