Months after he allegedly threatened to kill ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) following the interception of a quantity of cocaine on a fibreglass vessel at Parika, East Bank Essequibo, Ryan Pemberton called ‘Sancho’ remains on the run.

A source told Stabroek News that the search is still ongoing for Pemberton. He is being sought by both the police and CANU.

On the evening of February 22, ranks of CANU intercepted 61 lbs of suspected cocaine on the vessel at Parika Backdam.

In a press statement, CANU had said that the darkly painted go-fast vessel was intercepted with several parcels of the suspected cocaine in its bow.

Twenty-five parcels weighing a total of 27.866 kilogrammes of suspected cocaine were found, CANU had said.

Two occupants of the vessel: Muneshwar Dusrajh, 48, and Latchman Sankar, 35, were arrested.

Days after the interception, they were both charged and remanded to prison.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Pemberton is asked to contact CANU on 226-0431 or the nearest police station.
