Trinidad registered 153 COVID cases yesterday

(Trinidad Guardian) 153 new cases of COVID were recorded by the Ministry of Health yesterday making it the highest number ever recorded in a single day.

This morning’s update recorded 85 new cases. The total number of active cases now stand at 1059.

As of the afternoon of Tuesday, 25th August, 2020 the Ministry reports the following:

Number of samples submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), the UWI and other local sites for testing for COVID-19 20,439 Number of samples which have tested positive at public and private facilities in Trinidad and Tobago 1,252

Total number of active cases 1,059

Number of deaths 15

Number of persons discharged 178

The sixty-eight (68) positive cases reported below show results from samples taken during the period August 18th to August 24th, 2020. Therefore, this figure is NOT representative of the positive cases over the last 24 hours only.
