The Ministry of Education yesterday received 35 tablets from Demerara Bank Limited and Amazon Supply to be given to students in need.

Branch Coordinator and Marketing Officer of Demerara Bank Limited  Christina Correia said yesterday that the donation follows an engagement with the Ministry of Education regarding the provision of tablets to support students’ learning.

She said, according to a release from the Ministry of Education,  that the Bank recognizes that now is a tough time for all Guyanese especially students since they are unable to attend physical classes and don’t have devices to engage in virtual learning.

Correia said that Demerara Bank Limited is happy to partner with the Ministry to supply 15 tablets to aid in the initiative.

Representatives from Amazon Supply handed over 20 tablets to the Ministry and they too expressed their gratitude in being given the opportunity to contribute in such a major way.
