Trial over murder of amateur footballer set

The trial of Alvin Jones who is accused of the 2017 murder of amateur footballer, Paul Daniels, will commence on Thursday morning before Justice Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the High Court in George-town.

The 12-member jury that will be hearing the case was empanelled yesterday.

Jones, also known as ‘Hotskull’, was indicted on the capital charge which alleges that on February 2, 2017 at Independence Boulevard, Albouystown, he murdered Daniels, in the course or furtherance of a robbery.

He has pleaded not guilty.

Jones is being represented by defence attorney Stanley Moore.

The state meanwhile, is being represented by prosecutor Shawnette Austin.
