National players Heimraj Resaul and Benjaton Osbourne will clash in the final of the Guyana Tennis Association (GTA), ITF Safe Tennis tournament after securing semifinal wins at the Le Ressouvenir Tennis Court, East Coast Demerara Saturday evening.
Resaul, who is fresh off a stint of the United States Collegiate tennis circuit, upstaged the number seeded player and tournament favourite, Gavin Lewis 6-2 6-7 (7-1) (10-2).
The 19-year old Resaul is now set to take on Osbourne, who got the better of veteran player Andrew Lopes, 7-5, 6-2.
The consolation semi-finals, on the other hand, saw Javed Khan overcoming Wayne Baker 6-7 (7-2), 6-4 (10-7), while Ronald Murray booked his spot in the final via a walkover after David Rose was a no show.
