GOA expresses condolences following the death of local judo association president

 The Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) has expressed shock at the passing of President of the Guyana Judo Association and council member of the GOA, Raoul Archer. 

“…It is with shock and great sadness that the Guyana Olympic Association has learnt of the passing this morning of Mr. Raoul Archer, President of the Guyana Judo Association and a Council member of the GOA,” the Olympic body disclosed via a release.

Mr. Archer, according to the body, will be remembered for his dedication to the sport and especially to the development of Judo in Guyana.

“The GOA has had the distinct pleasure of working with Mr. Archer during his time as a council member and for his sterling contributions made over the years to the activities of the Guyana Olympic Association.

“On behalf of the President, Executive and members of the Guyana Olympic Association, we wish to extend our sincere condolences to his wife and other members of the Archer family, friends, executive and members of the Guyana Judo Association. May he rest in peace,” the releases added.
