S/American 10K postponed to next Sunday

The South American 10K Classic Road Race initially scheduled for tomorrow at West Demerara has been postponed to next Sunday.

The Athletic Association of Guyana (AAG) is currently working with the COVID- 19 Task Force to ensure that competitions conducted by the association will be done with strict regulations which will aid in the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus.

Hence, the AAG and the task force will be utilizing the extra week to ensure all necessary health protocols are in place.

“We remain committed to protecting the health and safety of our athletes and  officials” was part of a statement released by AAG yesterday.

The first five open male and female finishers will each take home $150, 000, $125, 000, $100 000, $75, 000 and $50, 000 in that order.
