The dead body of a Cane-field Settlement, East Canje, Berbice man, who went missing after leaving home to go fishing, was found yesterday morning in a trench at Number 5 Bramfield Public Road, Corentyne.
The dead man is Chabilall Kumar, 52, of Welfare Street, New Area, Canefield Settlement, East Canje, Berbice. He was described by persons who knew him as an alcoholic and epileptic.
A police source told Stabroek News that no marks of violence were found on the exposed part of the man’s body.
An autopsy is to be done to confirm the cause of his death.
