Three new COVID cases detected

Three new COVID-19 cases were yesterday recorded after some 168 more persons were tested for the virus.

This was revealed in the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard. The three new cases increased the total number of confirmed cases in Guyana to 6,301.

One case each was recorded in Regions One, Three and Ten.

As a result there are now 353 active cases, 348 of whom are in home isolation while the other 5 are in institutional isolation. Some 7 persons are patients of the country’s COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit.

Seven persons are currently in institutional quarantine and 42 more persons have  recovered from the virus. A total of 5,777 persons have recovered from COVID-19 in Guyana.
