Thirty-three more COVID-19 cases recorded

Thirty-three new COVID-19 cases were recorded yesterday, pushing Guyana’s total active cases to 307.

The new figures were shown in the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard which stated that the 33 new cases increased the number of confirmed positive cases in Guyana to 6,496. The cases came after 327 more persons were tested for the virus and increased the total number of persons tested to date to 39,892.

According to the regional distribution of the country’s cases, the new cases were recorded in eight of the ten administrative regions; three new cases each were recorded in regions One, Two, and Six, one new case each was recorded in regions Three, Five, and Seven, while 12 new cases were recorded in Region Four and nine in Region Eight.

There are also now five persons who are patients at the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
