Sebert Blake was recently returned as chairman of the Coach’s Commission while Lawrence Assanah was elected as the chairman of the Referee/Judges Commission.
Those and other details were disclosed by President of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA), Steve Ninvalle yesterday.
Ninvalle also revealed that Blake, along with five other coaches, Clive Atwell, Floyd Vincent, Lennox Daniels and Orlon Rogers were nominated for selection to participate in a virtual Communications Course being run by PanAm Sports on January 27.
“The executive of the Guyana Boxing Association has retained AIBA Three-Star Coach, Sebert Blake as the Chairman of the Coach’s Commission,” said Ninvalle.
Blake was elected as the first person for the post and has been retained for the next two years.
GDF Warrant Officer, Assannah, has taken over from Ramona Agard. Assanah is a One-Star AIBA referee/judge
Ninvalle thanked Agard for the high standard she set and stated that he hoped that “Mr Assanah can continue in that same vein.”
Assanah is scheduled to meet with the executive of the GBA soon to assist with the appointment of the Vice-Chairman and three other members of the commission.
