Cop charged with breaching COVID-19 restrictions

A police constable was yesterday charged with Breach of Restriction on Social Activity after he was accused of hosting a private party.

Timothy Morrison, Constable 25322, who is stationed at Brickdam Police Station and attached to the Impact Base, made his appearance before Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court.

Morrison pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on November 14, 2020, at Fellowship, West Coast Demerara, he hosted a private party thereby breaching the Restriction on Social Activities.

He was granted bail in the sum of $15,000 and the matter was adjourned to March 23rd, 2021 for trial.

Morrison was unrepresented.
