Superbet clerk robbed at Patentia

A Superbet clerk was on Saturday night robbed at Front Street, Patentia, West Bank Demerara, while in the process of locking up the business.

The clerk has been identified  as twenty-nine-year-old Shakule Khan of Belle West Housing Scheme, West Bank Demerara.

According to a police press release, at about 6.45pm, Khan was about to secure the Superbet front door with a Yale padlock when she heard a man ordering her not to move before snatching a black shoulder bag she had. The unidentifiable robber then escaped in the northern direction on foot.

The bag was said to have contained $162,700, all belonging to the owner of the business.

The police were summoned to the scene but the suspect could not be found. Investigations are ongoing.
