Superbet proprietor robbed at residence by gun-toting duo

A Superbet proprietor was on Tuesday robbed of over $2 million and other valuables by two identifiable suspects at his West Bank Demerara residence.

The police in a report stated that the incident occurred on Tuesday at about 22:25 hours.

According to the police, the victim was relieved of $2,380,000, one A20 Samsung cellular phone valued at $45,000 and two bunches of keys.

The victim, who owns two Superbet outlets and manages five other locations, had just pulled up at his residence after visiting all of his outlets to collect cash.

As he was about to exit his car he was approached by the two suspects one of whom placed a handgun to his abdomen while his accomplice placed a gun to his head and ordered “Don’t say anything, where is the money?”

One of the suspects then entered his vehicle and retrieved the two bags containing the cash and a bunch of keys, while the other took the victim’s cellular phone and his car and house keys.

They subsequently escaped in a black wagon.

The police have so far been unable to locate the suspects.

Investigations are ongoing.
