Gunman robs mother and daughter after at Concrete Strip

A woman and her mother were on Wednesday night held at gunpoint and robbed at Concrete Strip, West Coast Demerara, shortly after leaving church.

Ann McDonald, 25, of Ruimzigt, West Coast Demerara, while in the company of her mother, was relieved of $60,000 and one Samsung J7 cellular phone, valued at $80,000.

A police report stated that McDonald and her mother boarded a bus after leaving church and headed for Ruimzigt Public Road.

Upon arriving at their destination at about 19:30 hours, McDonald took out her cellular phone to use the flash light with her mom following behind. Whilst walking, Mc Donald’s mother turned around and noticed an unidentified man who whipped out a gun and instructed them to remain quiet.

He then relieved McDonald of her cellular phone and cash and in the process struck the victim’s mother in her head with the weapon.

The suspect made his escape in a silver/grey fielder wagon.

Investigations are ongoing.
