Tuschen mason fined on break and enter and larceny charge

A mason was on Thursday taken before the court and fined $100,000 or two months imprisonment on a break and enter and larceny charge.

Seechand Persaud, 33, of Lot 1885 Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, appeared before Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court where the charge was read to him.

He pleaded guilty to entering the dwelling place of Romel Amsterdam, a 38-year-old labourer of Tuschen New Scheme, East Bank Demerara between the period of January 12 and 14, 2021.

He was ordered to pay a fine of $100,000 or face two months’ imprisonment.
