Security guards attached to Sheriff Security Services were among dozens of other persons working at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Liliendaal who were vaccinated for COVID-19 yesterday.

Sheriff Security Services posted a photo of an employee and stated that their security officers were vaccinated yesterday as they are frontline workers.

An official from the Ministry of Health (MoH) later clarified that the only security officers from Sheriff Security Services who were vaccinated are the ones working at the infectious disease hospital. “No one else was vaccinated from that service,” the official stated before revealing that other staff members apart from doctors and nurses were also vaccinated.

Stabroek News was told that all persons working at the Infectious Diseases Hospital will be vaccinated irrespective of their job designation as they are considered front line workers.

All patients with severe and moderate symptoms of COVID-19 are being monitored at the hospital.
