Two more die of COVID, 46 more cases confirmed

The Ministry of Health yesterday confirmed the deaths of two more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), taking the total number of deaths from the virus in Guyana to 186.

The ministry said the latest fatalities were two men, ages 84 and 59, from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica).

Meanwhile, based on the results of more testing, the ministry yesterday confirmed that 46 more positive COVID-19 cases have been recorded. Of that number, which was confirmed from 503 tests, 35 are from Region Four. The remaining new cases are split between the other regions, with the exception of regions One, Five and Nine, which did not record any new positive cases. The ministry noted that there were 41 cases in institutional isolation and 666 in home isolation.
