Corentyne man injured in melee at Superbet

A Corentyne man was on Saturday evening admitted to the Port Mourant Hospital following a fight between him and two friends at a Superbet location in Tain, Corentyne.

According to information gathered, the injured man, Navin Raghoo, also known as ‘Bello’, 37, a welder of Lot 112 New Market Street, Rose Hall Town Corentyne, and two friends were imbibing and playing games at the location when the fight started around 7.30 pm.

Stabroek News was told that the injured man had a disagreement with one suspect, a 37-year-old unemployed man of Bloomfield Village. Upon noticing this, the second suspect, 40, of Nigg Squatting Area, Corentyne, intervened and a scuffle ensued among the three.

Persons said the first suspect used a pool stick to deal the injured man a lash to his head while the other suspect started to deal the man several punches and kicks about his body after he fell to the ground.

The man was picked up and rushed to the Port Mourant Hospital where he has since been admitted. Police have placed the two suspects and a third person in custody for questioning.
