Baramita miner seriously wounded in chopping attack

An 18-year-old gold miner was last Friday seriously injured by three known suspects at Five Star Landing, North West District, Region One.

The victim is said to be Gregory Henry of Return, Baramita, North West District. Photos contained in a police report showed gaping wounds to the left side of his face, left side of his jaw, in his left palm, his left arm, and another under his left rib cage.

The report stated that following the attack, Henry was transported to the Port Kaituma Hospital by public- spirited citizens. He was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital. His condition is listed as serious but stable.

Police investigations continue.
