Region 10 man, 76, dies from COVID

One new COVID-19 fatality was recorded yesterday along with  33 more cases of the virus.

The new casualty increased Guyana’s death toll to 204 and according to the Ministry of Health the victim was a 76-year-old man from Region Ten. 

Meanwhile, some 33 new cases of the virus were recorded which increased the total number of positive confirmed cases to 8,847. These new cases came after some 814 more persons were tested for the virus, thus increasing the total number of persons tested in the country so far to 71,427.

Of the new cases recorded, 19 were reported in Region Four as a result there are now 436 active cases, 36 of whom are in institutional isolation while 400 are in home isolation. Seven persons remain in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit.
