Two minors under the age of 16 are said to be pregnant after they were allegedly raped last year in separate cases.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) in a statement yesterday stated that a child under the age of 16 who resides in Region One was allegedly raped during the month of November 2020 and is now with child.
Meanwhile, the police also confirmed that they are investigating another reported case of rape committed on a child under the age of 16 by a known suspect who is still to be apprehended.
The police said that following a report of the case, the child was medically examined and found to be four months’ pregnant.
Investigations are ongoing.
