Two more die from COVID, 31 new cases

The Ministry of Health last night  said that two more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 249.

The latest fatalities are a 78-year-old female from Region Ten (Upper Demerara-Upper Berbice) and a 67-year- old male from Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara). They both died while receiving care at the ministry’s medical facility.

Meanwhile the Ministry yesterday reported 31 new cases of the virus. Twelve persons are in the ICU.
