Vitality Accounting and Consultancy Inc. on Friday presented a cheque valued $1,062,300 to the Human Services Minister Dr Vindhya Persaud to assist Ernesta Lara, a mother of six, rebuild her home in Matthew’s Ridge, North West District, Region One, which collapsed last year due to high winds.

The donation was handed over by Abbas Hamid, a Director of Vitality Inc.

A statement from the Human Services and Social Security Ministry said Persaud praised Vitality Inc for its philanthropic and humanitarian efforts. She revealed that the Ministry is overwhelmed with numerous requests for assistance, and with Vitality’s contribution a vulnerable mother will soon have her home rebuilt.

“Your donation is extremely appreciated and will be helping a single parent mother who has six children, one of whom is disabled. I am optimistic that with Vitality Inc donating to such a worthy cause, other companies will be encouraged to partner with us to help the most vulnerable in need,” Persaud was quoted as saying.

In response, Hamid stated Vitality Inc is committed to “giving back to our country especially in the social services sector”.  He further added the Company will continue to collaborate with the ministry to improve the quality of lives of the vulnerable.

The statement noted that Lara’s plight came to light when a representative from the Region’s Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC) contacted the ministry for assistance. The money received will cover the materials needed and labour to rebuild the home.

Vitality Inc last month launched its local operations to provide a wide range of services to meet the needs of small and large businesses in the oil and gas sector. The company provides accounting and consultancy services and also supplies heavy duty products to businesses in the sector.
