Minister in the Ministry of Public Works, Depdat Indar this morning said there was an electrical issue at the Garden of Eden power plant on the East Bank of Demerara causing a total shutdown of the Demerara-Berbice Interconnected System.
Power is being restored in a phased manner by GPL, he said.
GPL in an advisory said that incremental power restoration has commenced and will continue until all areas are re-powered.
