Boston is new president of Georgetown Dominoes Association

Lyndon Boston was recently elected president of the Georgetown Domino Association (GDA).

Boston replaces Colin Mc Ewan.

The other members of the executive are:- vice president Hazim Hakh, secretary Ann Thompson, treasurer Earl Mars, assistant secretary/tTreasurer Rodwell Phillips, senior organising secretary Mark Wiltshire, organising secretaries Barbara Marshall and Chris Anthony Pasramen and public relations officer, Roderick Harry.

The committee members are Andrea Mars, Dhyan Carter, Colin Boyce, William Orrin Boston and Erwin Chapman.

The new executive held its first executive meeting last Saturday at the Dynasty Sports Club with team captains and other representatives.

The object of the meeting was to introduce the new executives that were elected and to update members of its mandate planned for the next two years.

They also sought to chart the way forward with relation to  the Code of Conduct and modus operandi of the organisation.

New vice president and head of the Disciplinary Committee, Hakh, in his opening remarks pleaded for full co-operation and discipline at venues.

Burning issues raised by the captains and their representatives, were dealt with by the executive and it was decided that venues are to be issued Certificates of Approval once they adhere to all guidelines set by the GDA.

All organisers were asked to publish the dates of their competitions (diary of events) for approval by the appointed committee.

Ali of All Seasons/All Seasons Angels Sports Club gave undertook to donate  50 packs of COVID-19 masks and 25 bottles of sanitizers in keeping with the guidelines set out by the Task Force.

Also in attendance was immediate past president McEwan, and vice president of the World Council Domino Federation,  Faye Joseph.

Teams represented at the meeting were:-  FIB/Gangster, Turning  Point, R&R/B13, F&H, Gold is Money, All Season/Angels, OPKO, Phantom, Players, Spartans, Lions, Mix-Up/TNT,  C6, C7, Executives, 300/Strikers, Sius Warriors and Big Boss Girls.
