Man for retrial over murder of fellow Mazaruni Prison inmate

Two weeks after being charged with three counts of armed robbery, labourer Akeem Forte has secured bail.

Forte, 27, of Lot 26 Inner Bagotville, West Bank Demerara, was placed on $350,000 bail by Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty, at the Wales Magistrate’s Court.

Forte was charged on April 19 and was remanded after being accused of robbing Jadeshwar Doolchand, Veena Sahadeo and Navindra Koonlall on different occasions.

Forte’s attorney, Bernard DaSilva, made his second bail application yesterday and was able to secure bail for him. The matters were adjourned until May 20.
