Two men die in Timehri Public Road crash, one hurt

Two men died in a crash on the Timehri Public Road last night at around 8.30.

The police today identified the deceased as Pastal Dainty, 24, of Unity Place, Festival City,                    North Ruimveldt and Delon Whitehead, 32,  of William Street, Kitty.

The injured man was identified as  Michael Kendall, 25, of  Block X Great  Diamond, East  Bank Demerara.

The police said that enquiries disclosed that motor car #PXX 5192 was proceeding north along the western side of the Timehri Public Road, East Bank Demerara at a fast rate of speed when the driver lost control of the car.

The motorcar ran off the road in a north-western direction and collided with two lamp posts situated on the western side of the road before turning turtle several times and ending up on the western parapet, on a concrete fence.

As a result of the collision, extensive damage was done to the car, fence and lamp posts, and the driver and occupants suffered injuries about their bodies. They were  picked up in an unconscious condition by the police and  citizens and escorted to the  Georgetown Public Hospital  Corporation.
