The South Turkeyen Sports Committee and ‘Bannas Foundation’ will run off a pre-Father’s Day three-a-side small-goal football championship on Sunday from 8:00am at the Beterverwagting (BV) tarmac, the committee announced in a release yesterday.
According to the correspondence, several teams from various villages along the East Coast Demerara environs, are set to compete in the event.
Among the teams scheduled to compete are: BV, Plaisance, Better Hope, Enterprise, Ogle, and Vryheid’s Lust. An entrance fee of $1,000 per player is required to enter the tournament in the senior section.
Winners will receive trophies and medals donated by APNU Member of Parliament and attorney-at-law Roysdale Forde. The organisers are Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell, and Kevin Walcott.
