Two more COVID fatalities recorded

The Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday confirmed that two more persons from Region Four who were infected with COVID-19 have died.

According to a statement issued by the MoH, the two latest fatalities are a 77-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, who both died while receiving care at a state medical facility.

There have been a total of 46 COVID-19 related deaths during this month, with 20 being reported during the past week. The death toll now stands at 444.

Meanwhile, according to the COVID-19 dashboard released yesterday, 136 new cases have been confirmed. Of that number, 82 of those cases are from Region Nine, 30 from Region Four, 8 from Region Three, 6 from Region Ten, 5 from Region Six, 3 from Region Seven and 2 from Region One. The new cases were confirmed from 892 tests that were done yesterday. 

The dashboard also showed that there were 21 persons in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 108 in institutional isolation, 1,353 in home isolation and 2 persons in institutional quarantine. A total of 175,589 tests were administered to date and 17,047 persons who were infected with COVID-19 have recovered to date.

Based on the dashboard from last Sunday to yesterday, 670 new cases have been confirmed from 7,305 tests that were done.
