The US$400,000 Chicken ‘n’ Burger Delight restaurant was declared open at Leonora, West Coast Demerara (WCD) on Saturday.

A statement on the Ministry of Public Works’ Facebook page said that Minister within the Ministry Deodat Indar gave brief remarks at the opening ceremony for the restaurant.

The statement said that the restaurant is owned and managed by local businessman Chetan Puran who said that he had a mobile food truck before he established the permanent structure.

According to Puran, this was to test the market to see how beneficial it would have been to choose Leonora as the location for the restaurant.

The project commenced in August, 2020 and was completed at a cost of around US$400,000 ($80m).

Chicken ‘n’ Burger Delight currently has another location at Vreed-en-Hoop, WCD.

According to the statement, when asked what makes this fast food restaurant different from the rest, Puran said, “it’s simply the taste and the customer service”. He added “Once you sample our menu, you will realise that our product is distinctly different from our competitors. We have a unique taste and many of our customers tells us that. Our employees work very hard and we believe great customer service is a typical way to any successful business.”
