The police are investigating an accident involving a motorcyclist who was injured at Airy Hall Public Road, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.
The incident occurred at 9 pm on Wednesday while the motorcyclist, Akeim Casey, 24, of Mahaicony, was negotiating a bend.
According to the police, Casey lost control of the cycle and fell on the road, causing him to suffer injuries about his body.
As a result, he was picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital, where he was admitted as a patient for observation.
The police stated that the motorcycle was not found at the scene and the driver has refused to submit to a breathalyser test.
Investigations are ongoing.
