Haslington man succumbs, autopsy points to accident

A man succumbed to his injuries last Thursday following an accident at Haslington, East Coast Demerara.

Amrow Liverpool, also known as ‘Row,’ of Haslington, East Coast Demerara, was found lying on the southern side of the Haslington Public Road, East Coast Demerara, with apparent injuries to his head.

The police reported that ranks at the Cove and John Police Station received an anonymous call from someone who related that Liverpool was seen lying on the southern side of the Haslington Public Road.

Upon arrival, the ranks observed Liverpool lying on the parapet with apparent injuries to his head, which he said were as a result of a “lash” he was dealt by someone.

He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was admitted but he later succumbed while receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, a post-mortem examination conducted on the remains of the deceased last Friday gave his cause of death as multiple injuries, consistent with that of a motor vehicular accident.
