The Ministry of Health yesterday said that as August 14, 2021, one more person who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 574.
The latest fatality is a 38-year-old male from Region 6 (East Berbice-Corentyne) who died while receiving care at the ministry’s medical facility.
Meanwhile the ministry yesterday reported that there were 106 new cases of the virus. Sixteen persons are in the ICU.
