A teenager and two adults were yesterday arrested for participating in a series of robberies committed on several persons on the eastern side of the Demerara Harbour Bridge yesterday morning.

The Guyana Police Force said the robberies were committed by riders and pillion rider accomplices on four motorbikes.

The police, in a report, said CCTV cameras recorded the attack.

As a result of the information received, anti-crime patrols in Division 4A were immediately alerted and intercepted two of the suspects and a black 110 motorcycle without registration number.

Those arrested include a 15-year-old who was arrested at James Street, Albouystown and a 23-year-old man who was caught hiding in a dugout with water at North East La Penitence. According to the police a third suspect was also arrested in Georgetown.

The police have since recovered three cellphones, a pink handbag, a make-up kit, and $8,100 in cash, among other items.

All three suspects remained in custody last evening as the investigation continued.
