Three women latest COVID-19 fatalities

Three women are the country’s latest COVID-19 fatalities while 289 more cases of the virus have been recorded.

The Ministry of Health yesterday confirmed that with the latest deaths – a 45-year-old and 36-year-old from Region Three and an 81-year-old from Region Four, who all died on September 7 – the country’s death toll from the novel coronavirus has increased to 657.

Meanwhile, the 289 new cases, which were confirmed by the ministry’s COVID-19 dashboard, after 2,205 tests were done.

According to the regional distribution of cases, the majority of cases were reported in regions Four, Three, Two, and Six, with 179, 48, 16 and 15 cases, respectively. There were 2,606 active cases, 131 of which were in institutional isolation and the 2,475 are in home isolation. The dashboard also showed that 36 persons were patients at the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, while 66 more persons have recovered from the virus. The country’s total recoveries now stand at 23,762.
