Playing at Canal Number 2, the hosts won the toss and elected to bat first. They piled on 180 for three in their allotted overs before containing the visitors to 141 all out in 19 overs.

Canal Number 2 were on the back foot from the start with Navindra Persaud falling off the second ball of the match. He was followed by his opening partner, Tagnauth Jadunath, to see the hosts stumbling at 10 for two.

However, Looknauth revived the innings with three blistering sixes and eight pulsating fours. He worked his way to 83 not out and added 121 for the second wicket alongside Nityanad Mathura who carved two boundaries before departing for 39.
