City Council launches website

The Mayor and City Coun-cil (M&CC) has launched a website, which it believes will help in its administration of services to Georgetown’s citizens and businesses.

In a press release, the M&CC said the website portal – mccgt.com – will provide a range of services and information.

Its features include a search function to allow citizens to check rates as well as the garbage collection schedule.

Mayor Ubraj Narine, according to the release, said it is important that the M&CC do its part to ensure that all stakeholders are adequately inform-ed and assisted as they conduct their business.

Deputy Mayor Alfred Mentore, who spoke at the launch, indicated that the website will serve as an addition to the various methods which the council uses to communicate with the citizens as well as receive feedback and suggestions. He also expressed hope that the initiative will encourage other townships to do same and create a virtual space to improve the lives of citizens by making access to services simpler and easier.

The site was launched at the Kitty Market.
