Berbice woman charged with killing partner in Grenada

A New Amsterdam, Berbice woman is now a remanded prisoner in Grenada after she was charged with non-capital murder in connection with the death of her partner, whom she is accused of poisoning.

The Royal Grenada Police Force reported that Shane-Ann Ambrose, 24, a Guyanese national of New Amsterdam, who resided at Seamoon, St. Andrew (Grenada), was arrested and formally charged and cautioned for the offence of non-capital murder in connection with the death of Clifford Marshall, 56.

Marshall, also of Seamoon, St. Andrew, reportedly died in June and was buried in July.

According to the police, Ambrose appeared at the Grenville Magistrate’s Court on Friday last and she was remanded to custody at Her Majesty’s Prisons.

She will return to court on November 12.

On August, 14, The New Today newspaper reported that Ambrose had made a video confession which had gone viral on social media. The woman was heard indicating that she poisoned Marshall after she caught him molesting a three-year-old girl.

The article also stated that a relative had told them that the deceased had been convicted in the United Kingdom for child molestation and was deported back to Grenada after serving six out of nine years to which he had been sentenced.
